Removing a Bank Application

The following short steps provide how to remove a bank application from a return:

1. Open the return that needs the bank application removed
2. Navigate to Form 8879.
3. Under "Refund Type," change the choice from a 5 to the appropriate choice in accordance with how the refund is to be processed. 
4. Once the option is changed to anything other than 5 , a warning will be sent from the software explaining the need to collect the preparation fees from the taxpayer.
