How to Check The Status of an EF Return Using "Where’s My Refund" on The IRS Website

Refer to " Where’s My Refund? " for Refund Status of a tax return from the IRS website. SSN/ITIN, Filing status and Refund Amount are required for lookup. 

Browse to the following IRS website:  Where's My Refund

1. In the Tax Year section, click the correct year requesting refund status.
2. In the Social Security Number boxes, enter the primary taxpayer’s Social Security Number.
3. In the Filing Status list, click the taxpayer’s filing status.
4. In the Refund Amount box, enter the exact refund amount on the tax return, and then click Submit.
   

   

In addition the IRS has a tool for viewing Amended returns:  Where's My Amended Refund

The SSN/ITIN, DOB and Zip Code and Tax Year are required for lookup on an Amended return.
