Error Message: "Startup Abort! Abt(Software CRC Error)"

Symptoms

When running the System Export for List of non-returning clients, an error message similar to the following appears: 

'CrossLink Startup Abort!!! > Abt (Unable to open last year index) Error: (020)'

 

Cause

The export file name contains an invalid character.  Windows filenames cannot contain the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > |

 

Resolution

  1. Verify that the file name has invalid characters.
  2. Verify that the prior year path does not have invalid characters.
