Error Message When Activating TextLink: The module C:\xlinkYY\sendtext.dll failed with error code 0x80004005"

Symptoms

When activating TextLink in Office Setup - TextMsg/Email, the following error messages appear:

'The module “C:\xlinkYY\sendtext.dll” was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80004005.'

Other possible error code: 0x8002801c

  Cause

The program requires a Windows user with administrator privileges to activate TextLink. The current user may either not have administrative rights. Under Vista and later, UAC (User Account Control) may also be preventing the correct registration of TextLink.

  Resolution

In Windows Vista or later, run the program as an Administrator before activating Textlink.

1. Log into Windows as a user with Administrator privileges.
2. Right click on the program icon, select Run as administrator.
   
3. Log into the program as a program user with Administrator rights.
4. On the top menu, select Setup > Office Setup.
5. Click on the TextMsg/Email tab.
6. Click on Activate TextLink/Email.
