Error Message: xlink32 is not a valid Win32 application

Symptoms

While attempting to open the program, this message occurs:

’xlink32.exe is not a valid Win32 application’

 

Cause

This error can occur when the operating system is unsupported, the current operating system is not updated, or the executable is damaged.

 

Resolution

• Verify end users operating system. See KB: 8 Program System Requirements
• The program is no longer supported on Windows 2000 or earlier. If using Windows XP, verify the Windows installation is updated to the final service pack (Service Pack 3). If the error is resulting from a damaged executable, reinstall the application.
