User Login Window Disappears


SYMPTOMS

• When trying to log into the program, the user login window (below) disappears after entering a user and a password.
• Each time this happens a separate instance of xlink32.exe appears in the Processes Tab of Windows Task Manager

After clicking OK, the login window (shown above) disappears and a new instance of "xlink32.exe" remains open.

CAUSE

In most cases, this behavior occurs when a security or anti-virus program is disabling the program from opening. 

RESOLUTION

The only solution to correct this behavior is to completely uninstall the security program causing the conflict. It may be possible to add the program as an exception within the security software. Please review the security program’s documentation to determine how to add a security exception.
