How to Locate The Name of a Host Computer

From the main PC, follow the steps below to locate the name of a Main computer (Host PC). Steps will differ depending on the version of Windows. 

Windows 8

1. Click on the Start Button .
2. In the search box, type Computer.
3. Right click on This PC within the search results and select Properties to view the device/PC name.

Windows 10

1. In the search box, type File Explorer.
2. Right click on This PC within the Navigation pane and select Properties.
3. Locate the "Computer name, domain and work group" settings section after "Computer name."

Windows 11

1. In the search box, type and open Settings.
2. Click on the System tab to view the device/PC name. This will be displayed under the System tab next to the background image.
