How to Create a Default Auto Populating Preparer PIN

Setting the Paid Preparer PIN for Form 8879 or Third Party Pin Designee

In order to create and set a Preparer PIN that auto populates, proceed with the following steps:

1. From the "Work In Progress" screen (WIP), select Database.
2. From Database, select Paid Preparer.
3. In the new window, choose the Preparer which is in question and double click or press the Edit Button.
4. Input data in the following locations.
