Verify Error "Estimate outside 8879 variances, reprint 8879"

Symptoms

When clicking Verify , the Return Errors and Rejects window is populated with a verify to be resolved.

’Estimate outside 8879 variances, reprint 8879’

Cause

This verify error occurs when changes are applied to the return after the 8879 has been printed and signed by the taxpayer. Only changes greater than $50.00 for the AGI, or $14.00 for the Total Tax, Withholding, Refund, or Balance Due will cause this verify error.

Resolution

Resolution #1

To clear the verify message, the 8879 needs to be reprinted and the taxpayer must approve and sign the changes that had been applied to the return.

Resolution #2

Right click the Tax Estimate - Estimator in the "Attached Forms" list, then click Remove Form.
