Applying Software Updates

Software updates are important and should be applied often at the start of season. These updates assure the software is running as expected and also allows you to retrieve all required IRS and State related forms updates, once released. Important Note: Network Installations should close all running instances of the software before applying any updates to avoid program errors. 

  1. Click Transmit to open the Transmit to Central Site window.
  2. Click the Filter Button and deselect returns that are not ready to be transmitted, then click OK.
  3. From the Transmit to Central Site window, click Transmit. (Note the Transmission window as this displays what is sent/retrieved.)
  4. Locate the Other Items section from the Work in Progress screen to view if Software Updates need to be applied. Note: A hyperlink and number in the software update section indicate a software update may be available. 
    1. If prompted with, "Update File Missing", proceed to click through the messages as this should pull the missing updates in. 
  5. Click Apply All to apply updates displayed in the window and Restart, once complete.
