Invalid Characters or Symbols During Printing
Symptoms
In printing a tax return, the return prints with invalid characters, such as □, ≥, Ω, ℅, ℓ, №, ™, fi, ≥, and etc.
Cause
This can occur because the printer may not be using compatible drivers. By default, the program requires a LaserJet printer with HP PCL 6 or higher drivers.
Resolution: Use GDI Printer Interface
- Log into the program as a user with Administrator rights.
- On the Setup menu, choose Printer Setup. An Application Settings window will display.
- Check the Use GDI printer interface check box and then click OK.
- Test that the tax return will now print normally.
