How to Vertically Align Text on a Check

Adjusting the vertical alignment of text printed on a check

The following steps provide how to adjust the alignment of printed text on checks:

  1. Log into the software as a user with administrator rights.
  2. From the top menu, select Setup->Printer Setup.
  3. In the Check Printing field, change the default number of 50. Increasing this value by "1" will raise the text on the check one-tenth of a line, decreasing the value will lower the text on the check.

  4. It is recommended using blank paper when printing test checks.
    1. From the "Work in Progress" screen, click Checks, Registers, and Activation.
    2. On the Checks to Print Tab of the "Checks, Registers and Activation" window, click the Test Check Button.

  5. Using a piece of real check stock, overlay it on the printed test check to check for proper vertical alignment.

If the vertical alignment does not match the layout of the check stock, try further changing the default number of 50. Repeat these steps until the alignment is correct.
